Telephone
There are 1.74 million telephone land lines in use in Finland while there are currently 6.08 million mobile cellular lines.
The country has a modern system including a digital fiber-optic, fixed-line network and an extensive cellular network with excellent service, satisfying the domestic needs.
Finland’s country code is 358. Submarine cables provide links to Estonia and Sweden. Satellite earth stations and access to Intelsat transmission service via a Swedish satellite earth station as well as 1 Inmarsat (Atlantic and Indian Ocean regions) give excellent overseas communications. Finland shares the Inmarsat earth station with the other Nordic countries (Denmark, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden).
Radio and Television
Finland has two AM, 59 FM and 2 shortwave radio broadcast stations.
There are 120 (plus 431 repeaters) servicing 3.2 million televisions. On 1 September 2007, Finland began broadcasting all television signals digitally and discontinued all analogue broadcasts in February, 2008.
Internet
3.877 million hosts using 3 Internet Service Providers service 3.6 million Internet users. The Internet country code is .fi (except the Aland islands use .ax).

There are 148 airports, 76 of which have paved runways.

There is one gas pipeline that is 694 kilometers long.
Railways
Finland has 5,741 kilometers of broad gauge rails (1.524 meter gauge), 2,619 kilometers of which is electrified.
Roadways
Of the more that 78,800 kilometers of roads in Finland, 50,854 are paved of which 700 kilometers are expressways. 27,967 kilometers are unpaved.
Waterways
Including the 3,577 kilometer long Saimaa Canal System (part of which was leased from Russia) there are 7,842 total kilometers of navigable waterways.
Merchant Marines
Being nearly surrounded by water, Finland has a healthy merchant marine navy which includes: 3 bulk carriers, 28 cargo vessels, 1 carrier, 6 chemical tankers, 3 container ships, 5 passenger liners, 18 passenger/cargo ships, 5 petroleum tanker, 27 roll on/roll off and 2 vehicle carriers.
Also harbored in Finland are 8 foreign-owned ships: 2 Estonian, 1 German, 3 Norwegian and 2 Swedish.
Of the 47 ships which are registered in other countries there are: 9 Bahamian, 4 German, 3 from Gibraltar, 14 Dutch, 1 Norwegian, 2 Panamanian, 1 from Saint Kitts and Nevis , 12 Swedish and 1 British.
There are ports and/or terminals in Hamina, Helsinki, Kokkola, Kotka, Naantali, Pori, Raahe, Raum and Turku.
